Position: Writer/Reporter

Job Description:

We are looking for a bilingual journalist to join our team and contribute to daily news coverage of Taiwan and international events impacting the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce in-depth articles on major societal, business, and political developments in Taiwan
• Research and translate Mandarin-language news and resources into high-quality English articles
• Attend press conferences and events to provide timely and accurate reporting

Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin
• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Experience in news reporting, preferably with English-language media
• Solid understanding of developments in Taiwan, particularly in politics and business
• Willingness to work on weekends when needed
• Experience with photography, video, or audio content production is a plus, but not required

We are seeking experienced contributing writers who specialize in politics, defense, or technology, with a particular focus on Taiwan and broader geopolitical dynamics in the Asia-Pacific region. Ideal candidates should have a solid understanding of current affairs, strong research capabilities, and the ability to craft compelling, well-sourced articles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write original news features or analysis pieces on topics related to Taiwan or regional/international geopolitics
• Conduct interviews, cite credible sources, and ensure factual accuracy
• Work closely with editors on revisions and feedback

Requirements:

• Experience in journalism, political analysis, or commentary
• Deep knowledge of Taiwan’s political, defense, or tech landscape—or its geopolitical environment
• Strong writing skills in Mandarin or English
• Ability to present complex topics in an accessible and engaging way
• Reliable sourcing and research practices

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in international relations, security studies, or tech policy
• Familiarity with regional actors and policy developments affecting Taiwan
• Experience writing for international publications or media outlets
