TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Server manufacturer Wiwynn Corp. opened its advanced manufacturing facility in Texas on Tuesday.
Wiwynn said it had invested more than NT$50.90 billion (US$1.6 billion) in the facility in Socorro, near El Paso, per CNA.
The first building covers about 393,000 square feet, with shipments beginning at the end of 2025. The second covers about 476,000 square feet and is expected to begin production in the second quarter of 2027, per MoneyDJ.
The site is expected to exceed 1.7 million square feet. Wiwynn Chair and Chief Strategy Officer Emily Hong (洪麗寗) said the facility would expand the company’s global manufacturing footprint and provide US production capacity for advanced server racks.
Hong said Wiwynn would work with global partners to prepare for the next stage of AI infrastructure development. Amazon Vice President of Annapurna Labs Gary Szilagyi said the facility reflected the partnership between Amazon and Wiwynn and would expand their capabilities in Socorro.
Wiwynn said the Texas facility would strengthen its manufacturing and delivery capabilities in North America while integrating resources across Asia, the Americas, and Europe.
The site can manufacture and test both air-cooled and liquid-cooled racks. Wiwynn is also adding automation to improve efficiency and stability.
The company said it would continue investing in smart manufacturing and rack integration while expanding its global manufacturing and service network.
