TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — US memory chipmaker Micron Technology is awarding its largest-ever employee rewards package, with Taiwan workers set to receive a NT$1 million (US$31,300) cash bonus.
Micron said the fiscal 2026 rewards are the largest in the company’s history, recognizing employees’ contributions to its operating results and reflecting its commitment to sharing the benefits of growth, per UDN. In Taiwan, employees who joined the company by Aug. 29, 2025, will receive the NT$1 million cash bonus, while employees hired during fiscal 2026 will receive a prorated amount based on their time with the company.
In addition to the cash bonus, Taiwan employees can receive annual performance bonuses of up to 500% of their target bonus, along with additional stock awards. For Taiwan production workers, overall compensation is equivalent to about 35 to 68 months of salary.
Micron said cash compensation for its Taiwan employees will start at NT$1.7 million for fiscal 2026, while entry-level engineers earn an average of about NT$2.9 million in cash compensation, UDN reported. Their average total compensation, including stock awards, can reach NT$3.4 million.
Taiwan is a key manufacturing and technology hub in Micron’s global operations, with about 15,000 employees and cumulative investment exceeding NT$1.6 trillion. It is one of the company’s core locations for DRAM manufacturing and technology development.
