TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Chunghwa Precision Test Tech. Co., Ltd. plans to boost capacity by 50% in the first half of 2027 from its August level to meet rising customer demand, President Huang Shui-ke (黃水可) said Wednesday.
Speaking at Semicon Taiwan, Huang said CHPT had doubled its capacity from the end of 2025 to August, per CNA. He said the company expects demand to continue growing and plans to keep expanding capacity through 2028, per UDN.
The testing equipment maker has been expanding its ASIC test interface business and is in talks with major cloud service providers. Its offerings include wafer test boards, wafer probe cards, and wafer burn-in test boards.
Huang said CHPT’s GPU test interface business remains larger than its ASIC business this year, but the balance could reverse next year. He expects the company’s probe card business to continue growing this year.
If one of the company’s new probe card products now undergoing validation enters mass production, its revenue could reach a level comparable to CHPT’s total probe card revenue this year, Huang said.
Commenting on Nvidia’s planned investment in MediaTek, Huang said the move reflects a deeper phase of the companies’ partnership. He said major cloud service providers are developing their own AI chips, while GPU and ASIC architectures are likely to complement each other, creating more opportunities for CHPT to work with major industry players.
