TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan’s Systex Corp. and Japan’s Itochu Techno-Solutions Corp. are deepening their partnership to support Taiwanese semiconductor companies expanding their operations in Japan.
The two companies plan to establish a joint venture in Fukuoka, Kyushu, to help Taiwanese chipmakers establish and manage their technology infrastructure. The partnership comes as major semiconductor companies such as TSMC and ASE invest in Japan, prompting their suppliers to expand into the market as well, according to CTEE.
Fukuoka was chosen to host the joint venture as Kyushu has emerged as a major semiconductor hub in Japan. The new company will provide cybersecurity, network management, and other IT services for businesses operating across multiple countries. It aims to generate NT$2 billion (US$62.7 million) in revenue by 2030.
Systex is one of Taiwan’s leading IT service providers, helping businesses plan, build, and maintain their technology systems. Its expertise spans multiple areas of digital technology, with clients in the financial, telecommunications, and manufacturing sectors, according to MoneyDJ.
Itochu hopes to leverage Systex’s IT experience with major Taiwanese semiconductor companies in the Japanese market. For Systex, the partnership provides access to Itochu’s business network across Japan, North America, and Southeast Asia as it seeks to expand overseas.
The two companies formed a strategic partnership earlier this year. Itochu has gradually acquired Systex shares on Taiwan’s public market and now holds about a 1% stake in the company.
