TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Kenmec Mechanical Engineering expects full-year revenue to reach a record as semiconductor automation and public works drive its order pipeline, the company said Wednesday at the Taipei International Industrial Automation Exhibition.
Semiconductors and public works now account for most of Kenmec’s orders, with the two sectors representing about 30% and 30–40%, respectively. First-half order intake rose about 80% year-on-year, while the company had NT$6.66 billion (US$208.6 million) in orders awaiting completion at the end of June, per MoneyDJ.
Semiconductor business has expanded particularly quickly, with its share of orders rising from about 10% last year to 30% this year. Semiconductor orders booked during the first half were also about 30% higher than the total for all of last year. Advanced packaging is another focus of Kenmec’s semiconductor business, which now includes OHT systems and autonomous mobile robots alongside its existing factory-logistics operations.
Revenue for the first seven months of the year jumped 32.78%, reaching NT$2.224 billion, per CNA.
Outside its semiconductor business, Kenmec has recently secured work in transportation and biotechnology. A NT$189 million Taiwan Railway project covers onboard CCTV and passenger information systems for tilting trains, while the biotech order involves automated warehousing and related logistics.
The railway project is expected to run for three years, while work continues on the baggage-handling system for Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Terminal 3, MoneyDJ reported.
At the exhibition, Kenmec is presenting AI robotics, smart rail and public works, semiconductor automation, digital twin system integration, and smart manufacturing and logistics, per UDN.
The company said several large projects will continue to be negotiated through the remainder of the year. It added that project revenue will depend on delivery schedules and construction progress.
