TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Google launched its Pixel 11 series in Taiwan on Thursday, with all four models powered by Tensor G6 chips made using TSMC’s enhanced 3 nm process.
The Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and foldable Pixel 11 Pro Fold are built around Google’s Gemini features and will go on sale Aug. 20, per CNA. The phones are priced at NT$29,990 (US$933), NT$36,990, NT$42,990, and NT$60,990, respectively.
Google Vice President of Hardware Peng Yu-chun (彭昱鈞) said rising memory prices are an industry-wide issue that could affect both smartphone prices and supply. He said Google is relying on system-level optimization of the user interface, DRAM usage, and software and hardware architecture to manage higher memory costs.
Peng said stronger engineering capabilities will become important as memory constraints continue, allowing Google to improve services without simply relying on adding more memory. Google also acknowledged that it had “given some thought” this year to the potential impact of memory shortages on sales volumes.
The Tensor G6 chips in all four models are manufactured using TSMC’s enhanced 3 nm process, Peng said, adding that Google will work closely with suppliers to integrate and optimize the products.
Peng said this year marks Google’s 20th anniversary in Taiwan and the 20th anniversary of its engineering and R&D team in the country. He said Taiwan is now Google’s largest hardware and AI infrastructure R&D center outside the US.
