TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Starlux Airlines said Thursday it will begin flights between Taichung and Nagoya, Japan, on Oct. 25.
The airline will operate four flights a week using Airbus A321neo aircraft, per Liberty Times. The company described Nagoya as a major destination in central Japan, with the new route providing residents of central Taiwan with another travel option in Northeast Asia.
Nagoya can serve as a starting point for visits to other historic destinations in the region, as well as attractions including Legoland and Ghibli Park, Starlux said. The region also offers culinary specialties such as hitsumabushi eel.
Starlux began flying between Taipei and Nagoya in December 2023, per CNA. The new service from Taichung brings the airline's Taichung network to 12 international destinations.
The airline said it will continue expanding its network in central Taiwan based on passenger demand.
