TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Asustek Computer Inc. on Wednesday raised its full-year AI server revenue growth target from 100% to at least 150%, as strong orders continue to support the segment.
Asus' server business generated more than NT$120 billion (US$3.7 billion) in revenue last year. First-half sales this year have already exceeded the full-year figure for 2024, highlighting the segment's rapid expansion, according to CTEE.
Second-quarter AI server sales rose 200% year over year after first-quarter results exceeded expectations by several times. Following two upward revisions to its target, the company is expected to generate NT$180-200 billion in server revenue this year.
The expansion reflects the broader rise of AI computing, as applications such as facial recognition and disaster prediction require substantial computing power to train and run AI models. AI servers provide the processing capacity for these workloads, according to Asus.
AI servers, unlike traditional servers, are designed for intensive computing tasks and feature specialized processors capable of handling complex calculations simultaneously. They now account for about 90% of ASUS' server business, with its lineup including Nvidia HGX-based systems and GB300 NVL72 rack-scale servers alongside general-purpose models.
Asus is also preparing for the next generation of AI platforms. At the Computex technology exhibition in June, the company showcased systems based on Nvidia's next-generation Rubin and Vera Rubin platforms, as well as rack-scale infrastructure solution featuring full liquid cooling.
The company expects to gradually ramp up deliveries of new AI servers from the fourth quarter in line with Nvidia's schedule. The new products are expected to provide another source of growth for its server business.
