TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Armaments Bureau’s Production and Manufacturing Center activated wartime production mechanisms on Wednesday as part of the military’s Han Kuang 42 exercise.
The drill tested the military’s ability to transition from peacetime to wartime operations, disperse production lines, and continue supporting combat operations, Military News Agency reported.
Factory 202 produced 155 mm artillery shell bodies and filled them with high explosives. It also incorporated drone munitions assembly to meet the military’s drone strike demands and asymmetric warfare requirements.
Factory 205 continued cold hammer forging T112 rifle barrels, rifle sleeving, and rifle assembly non-stop. Precision equipment was used in accordance with standardized procedures to ensure component compatibility and design accuracy, per MNA.
Factory 401 produced three types of optical sights, including the TS112 close-combat sight, to boost soldiers’ long-range precision, close-range rapid engagement, and urban combat capabilities. All products underwent final testing to maintain strict quality control and uninterrupted wartime production.
The bureau emphasized that sustained wartime production and weapons supply are critical to facilitate combat operations. It pledged to continue providing frontline units with high-quality weapons and ammunition.
