TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Hotai Motor reported Monday preliminary consolidated revenue of NT$30.04 billion (US$931.45 million) in July, up 3.64% from June and 15.89% from a year earlier.
The figure was the company’s second-highest monthly revenue on record, behind NT$30.16 billion in April, per Liberty Times. Revenue for the first seven months reached a record NT$187.63 billion, up 13.51% year-on-year.
Hotai Motor said July is traditionally a peak month for auto sales, with its Toyota and Lexus models maintaining strong demand, per CNA. The RAV4 series benefited from a new plug-in hybrid electric vehicle variant, while strong sales of the Lexus NX also supported revenue.
Hotai Motor's Toyota and Lexus brands recorded 16,071 registrations in July, the highest monthly figure this year, for a combined market share of 41.6%. The two brands recorded 92,599 registrations in the first seven months, giving them a 38.4% market share, while the company's Japanese dealerships contributed about NT$3.85 billion to July revenue.
Hotai Motor expects sales to slow in August, forecasting about 9,600 combined Toyota and Lexus registrations and a 34.3% market share.
