TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The military used civilian and military vehicles in Penghu County on Thursday to practice delivering food and field rations to troops during the Han Kuang 42 military exercise.
CNA reported that the First Combat Theater conducted the supply drill at the former Taipower plant in Penghu. The exercise tested whether troops could continue receiving essential supplies during wartime.
The military used its own trucks along with civilian vehicles mobilized for the drill. Supplies were moved from storage facilities to locations near participating units to keep troops supplied with food.
The cargo included food supplies and field rations stored at an Army supply depot. The supplies were delivered to unit positions, where troops transferred them to smaller distribution points, per UDN.
The Penghu Defense Command said the drill was intended to familiarize personnel with wartime supply procedures and improve coordination between military and civilian resources. It said the goal was to ensure essential supplies could reach frontline units quickly and efficiently.
The drill followed a critical infrastructure protection exercise held in Penghu County on Wednesday. Han Kuang 42 began Wednesday and includes a series of drills testing Taiwan's wartime readiness, per Rti.
