TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — China Airlines launched daily flights between Taichung and Okinawa on Tuesday, raising the carrier’s Taiwan-Japan service to more than 170 flights per week.
Flight CI310 departs Taichung at 10 a.m. and arrives at Naha Airport at 12:40 p.m. local time, per UDN. The return flight, CI311, leaves Okinawa at 1:40 p.m. and lands in Taichung at 2:10 p.m.
Starting Aug. 13, the number of flights will double, with CI312 departing Taichung at 3:20 p.m. and arriving in Okinawa at 6 p.m. Flight CI313 will leave Naha at 7 p.m. and arrive in Taichung at 7:30 p.m.
The Taichung-Okinawa flights use Airbus A321neo aircraft, the airline said. The increased frequency in August will give travelers more flexibility, allowing an early departure from central Taiwan and a later return.
Taiwan’s flag carrier is also launching promotions and offering extra services, including more movie, music, and game options through its wireless entertainment system. Food offerings include a “Pokemon Sky Bento” and pineapple cakes, UDN reported.
