TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜) said Friday that New Taipei will host a National Day evening celebration, while Taitung County will stage the fireworks display.
CNA reported that Han thanked both local governments for agreeing to host the events. As chair of the National Day organizing committee, he said central and local officials would work together on preparations.
The evening celebration and fireworks display are major parts of the National Day program. Han said the events would showcase the nation’s cultural diversity and the distinct character of each region.
He said New Taipei and Taitung would combine local traditions with National Day themes. Organizers aim to present creative and high-quality programs for visitors.
PTS News reported that Changhua County had originally planned to host the fireworks but withdrew in June after reviewing a site at Changhua Coastal Industrial Park. Hsinchu County was later considered but declined because of concerns about space, crowding and viewing conditions.
