TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — TSMC announced Monday a record June revenue of NT$442.68 billion (US$13.79 billion), up 6.2% from the previous month and 67.9% from a year earlier.
The world’s largest contract chipmaker said that Q2 revenue reached NT$1.27 trillion, up nearly 12% from Q1 and exceeding its previous guidance, per CNA.
June revenue surpassed the previous monthly record of NT$416.98 billion set in May. Revenue for the first six months of the year was NT$2.4 trillion, up 35.6% from NT$1.77 trillion during the same period last year.
TSMC had forecast Q2 revenue of NT$1.25 trillion to NT$1.29 trillion, representing quarterly growth of about 10% and annual growth of about 32%, based on an assumed exchange rate of NT$31.7 per US dollar. The company said strong demand for advanced process technologies supported the growth.
The company has said rising AI-related demand and growing computing requirements are driving demand for advanced-node chips. TSMC previously forecast that US dollar-denominated revenue would grow more than 30% this year.
TSMC is scheduled to hold its quarterly earnings conference on Thursday, where investors will focus on its outlook for the second half of the year, including revenue growth and overseas fab expansion, per Anue.
