TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Schools and government offices will close across 20 cities and counties on Saturday as Typhoon Bavi approaches, CNA reported Friday.
The Central Weather Administration issued sea and land warnings for Typhoon Bavi on Friday. Conditions are expected to be most severe from Friday evening through Saturday.
In the north, Keelung, Taipei, New Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Hsinchu County will suspend work and classes.
In central Taiwan, Miaoli County, Taichung, Changhua County, Nantou County, and Yunlin County will suspend work and classes.
In the south, Chiayi, Chiayi County, Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Pingtung County will suspend work and classes.
In the east, Yilan County and Hualien County will suspend work and classes. Taitung County will operate normally, except in Lanyu and Lyudao townships, where closures will be in effect.
Among Taiwan’s outlying islands, Penghu County and Lienchiang County will suspend work and classes. Kinmen County will maintain normal government office and school schedules.
