TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan Railway Corporation said Friday it will suspend some train services due to Typhoon Bavi.
The railway said Pingxi Line services No. 4742 and No. 4744, as well as Eastern Main Line Train No. 452, will be suspended Friday, per Liberty Times. The agency said service information for Saturday will be announced by 9 p.m. Friday based on the typhoon's latest developments.
All express and local trains on the Western Main Line, the South-Link Line, and branch lines, including the Shenao, Liujia, Neiwan, Jiji, and Shalun lines, will operate normally. Other Eastern Main Line services will also run normally.
Tourist trains, including the Breezy Blue, Haifeng, Shanlan, and Future services, will also be suspended, Liberty Times reported. The company urged passengers to check the latest service information before departure.
Passengers can check updates through the railway's website, call its 24-hour customer service lines at (02) 2191-0096 or 0800-765-888, or inquire at nearby stations. The company said unused tickets purchased during the period from the issuance of the typhoon's sea warning until the day it is lifted can be refunded without service fees within one year of the travel date.
