TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan’s major power suppliers are seeing stronger business momentum as the expansion of AI data centers fuels demand for high-power systems and related infrastructure.
Delta Electronics posted record monthly, quarterly, and first-half revenue. Lite-On Technology reported its highest quarterly revenue in 31 quarters, or nearly eight years, according to CTEE.
Delta reported consolidated revenue of NT$65.6 billion (US$2 billion) for June, up 11.26% from the previous month and 55.43% from a year earlier. It was the first time the company’s monthly revenue exceeded NT$60 billion, according to Anue.
The strong June results lifted Delta’s second-quarter revenue to a record NT$183.26 billion, up 47.75% year-on-year. Revenue for the first half reached NT$342.61 billion, also a record high, representing a 41.02% increase from the same period last year.
Delta said power-related products and infrastructure remained its main revenue drivers. Power supplies and components accounted for 50% of June revenue, followed by infrastructure at 37%.
As AI data centers require greater computing power, demand has increased for high-capacity power supplies and cooling solutions. Delta said shipments of some AI server power products were adjusted slightly in the second quarter, but stronger sales of advanced products helped improve its overall product mix.
Institutional investors said the launch of new-generation AI platforms is expected to support demand for high-power supplies, liquid cooling systems, and high-voltage direct current solutions. This is expected to benefit Delta's broad data center infrastructure portfolio.
Lite-On reported June revenue of NT$18.66 billion. The figure was up 7.5% month-on-month and 36.98% year-on-year, marking its highest level in 93 months.
Second-quarter revenue reached NT$52.70 billion, up 30.38% from a year earlier. First-half revenue totaled NT$96.11 billion, up 25.08% year-on-year.
Lite-On said demand remained strong for power management products, including power supplies used in high-end AI and cloud computing servers, as well as battery backup units.
Looking ahead, analysts expect the company to benefit from upgrades to AI data center power systems. Growth in higher-value products and an improved product mix are expected to support its performance as Lite-On begins verification of 800VDC power solutions in the second half of the year.
Beyond Delta and Lite-On, other Taiwanese suppliers are also strengthening their positions in the market, according to Sinotrade.
Chicony Electronics supplies power solutions for servers and notebooks, while expanding into areas such as LED lighting and smart building control systems. AcBel Polytech focuses on power conversion modules while developing battery backup units and energy storage solutions.
