TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – China Airlines listed a record consolidated revenue for June, the second quarter, and the first half of 2026, reports said Friday.
June revenue totaled NT$21.76 billion (US$678.04 million), an increase of 28.82% from last year and a record for a single month, the Liberty Times reported. Passenger traffic accounted for NT$11.81 billion, a 14.84% rise, while freight accounted for NT$8.08 billion, an increase of 51.6% from the same month a year earlier.
The carrier reported consolidated Q2 revenue of NT$63.84 billion and NT$120.8 billion for the first half of the year. Both figures amounted to records, the Liberty Times reported.
The airline said the Dragon Boat Festival holiday and the start of the summer helped passenger traffic in June. The carrier cited an occupancy rate of at least 85% for flights to Prague, Rome, London, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle. During the first half of the year, Sydney, Brisbane, Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Kumamoto were popular destinations.
Even though June amounted to a low season for freight, business remained brisk thanks to the high-tech sector. AI servers, semiconductor equipment, and seasonal fruit played a key role during the month, according to the airline.
Looking forward to the third quarter, China Airlines predicted stable growth for passenger traffic, per UDN. From July 24, the number of flights between Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and Busan in South Korea will increase to 21 per week, while an online travel promotion campaign until July 22 offers favorable ticket prices to several destinations.
Stable demand for AI, ICT, and semiconductor products underpinned positive prospects for the airline’s cargo business, with falling international fuel prices also helping, UDN reported.
