TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — More than 400 flights have been canceled in Taiwan due to Typhoon Bavi as airlines adjust schedules ahead of the storm’s arrival.
The Civil Aeronautics Administration said on Friday morning that airlines had canceled 154 domestic flights and 261 international and cross-strait flights due to Bavi, per SET News. It said flight operations may continue to change depending on Bavi’s track and intensity.
Taoyuan Airport said China Airlines and Eva Air had no arrivals or departures from 6 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday. Starlux Airlines and Tigerair Taiwan canceled all flights scheduled for Saturday.
China Airlines canceled or delayed several flights Friday afternoon and will suspend all flights connecting Taipei Songshan and Taichung airports Saturday, SET News reported. Eva Air also canceled all flights to and from Songshan Airport through midnight Saturday, and all flights to and from Kaohsiung Airport after Friday afternoon.
Domestic carriers, including Mandarin Airlines and UNI Air, also canceled routes from Songshan, Taichung, and Kaohsiung. International airlines, including Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Thai Vietjet Air, and Etihad Airways, also adjusted schedules.
