TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Eva Air was named the world’s best international airline for 2026 on Tuesday by US travel magazine Travel + Leisure.
Eva Air said the award, based on the magazine’s annual World’s Best Awards Survey, represents the airline’s highest-ever ranking and reflects growing global recognition of its service quality, per UDN. The carrier claimed the top position with a score of 91.63, ranking ahead of major international airlines, including Qatar Airways and Emirates.
Eva Air Chair Lin Bao-shui (林寶水) thanked passengers worldwide for their support and recognition. “Winning the top spot this year is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team, who strive every day to deliver exceptional service at every stage of the journey,” Lin said.
The airline has continued to improve its passenger experience, including the launch of its fourth-generation Premium Economy Class in 2025, which received positive market feedback, UDN reported. Eva Air has also partnered with international brands to upgrade onboard amenities and dining services as part of its effort to exceed traveler expectations.
Travel + Leisure said more than 200,000 readers participated in this year’s airline survey, which covers categories including airlines, hotels, cruises, cities, and islands. The magazine’s readers assessed carriers on cabin comfort, in-flight service, customer service, and overall value.
The magazine praised Eva Air for its “top-notch business-class cabin and fantastic connections across Asia.” It noted that, despite growing competition from other Taiwanese airlines, particularly on California-to-Taipei routes, Eva Air remains a dependable and trustworthy carrier.
The remaining top 10 carriers were Qatar Airways, Emirates, La Compagnie, Singapore Airlines, Japan Airlines, Korean Air, Virgin Atlantic Airways, Etihad Airways, and Thai Airways International.
