TAICHUNG (Taiwan News) — Feastogether Group expanded its luxury dining footprint into central Taiwan on Thursday with the opening of Sunrise, its premier Japanese-style buffet brand, at Top City department store in Taichung.
The launch marks a strategic milestone for the group, connecting consumer markets across Taiwan. Projecting an annual revenue of NT$550 million (US$17 million), the Taichung branch is expected to become the group’s second-highest-grossing location, trailing only A Joy in Taipei 101.
Feastogether targeted Taichung due to its booming food and beverage sector, which ranks second among Taiwan's major cities.
With the addition of Sunrise, Feastogether operates four major brands at Top City Taichung, including Eat Together, Open Rice, and Siam More. This multi-brand hub strategy is projected to generate over NT$1 billion annually, solidifying the group's leadership in Taiwan’s premium buffet market.
The restaurant features an interior inspired by the prosperity of Japan's Edo period. Nine dining areas offer more than 200 premium Japanese dishes, including 15 exclusive Taichung menu items available through Sept. 7.

The flagship opening features a high-profile collaboration with chef Hsu Wen-chieh (許文杰) of Kitcho, a Tokyo-style sushi restaurant that has earned one Michelin star for eight consecutive years.
The partnership previews a larger culinary project launching in September. Hsu's limited-edition dishes include a fatty bluefin tuna hand roll with pickled radish and a crispy crab meat with sea urchin spring roll.
Sunrise’s focus on imported Japanese seafood is highlighted by mikan yellowtail nigiri from Ehime Prefecture and straw-smoked bonito nigiri from Shizuoka.
For dessert, the restaurant collaborated with Japanese soft-serve brand Nissei to offer parfaits made from Hokkaido dairy.

The menu also reinterprets local Taichung delicacies into high-end Japanese fare. A bamboo shoot cold gelee reimagines Taichung’s traditional "da-mien-geng" noodles using local green bamboo shoots.
A deep-fried shrimp dish incorporates the bittersweet flavor of local jute leaves, a summer staple in the city. Other regional adaptations include an artisan cake stuffed with Dajia taro and mozzarella cheese.
The debut has already triggered strong local demand, drawing more than 24,300 reservations for its first 30 days.
