TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Chunghwa Post and FamilyMart announced Thursday a nationwide parcel delivery service that allows customers to ship packages of up to 10 kg from any FamilyMart store.
The service is aimed at capturing demand from Taiwan’s e-commerce logistics market, per UDN. Chunghwa Post will deliver parcels dropped off at FamilyMart stores to designated addresses, with a promotional shipping rate of NT$89 (US$3) per package available through Dec. 31.
Those who use the service before the end of July will also receive a complimentary tea egg as part of the launch promotion, per CNA.
FamilyMart said the service offers three main advantages: 24-hour access through its nationwide store network, Chunghwa Post’s ability to deliver to rural and offshore areas, and an expanded shipping limit. The two companies previously partnered on a service limited to 1 kg parcels using tamper-evident bags.
Chunghwa Post said Taiwan’s parcel market has grown rapidly, with total shipments rising more than 71% between 2015 and 2024. Around 60% of that growth came from convenience store pickup and home delivery services.
Chunghwa Post operates about 1,300 post offices and 2,400 EZPost lockers, but officials said partnering with FamilyMart expands customer access beyond traditional business hours. The postal service said it is confident the collaboration could double parcel volumes.
