TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍) has completed visits to Poland and Italy at the head of a trade delegation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Friday.
Representatives of major business associations and of 20 economic sectors accompanied Lin on his June 21-26 mission, according to a ministry statement. The delegation included business people interested in energy, smart architecture, smart transportation, and ICT.
After attending the Taiwan Expo in the Polish capital Warsaw, the group traveled to Italy for separate exchanges about trade and about the strengthening of supply chains. The two events organized with the Regional Council of Lombardy and the Confindustria business association drew almost 100 attendees each, the ministry said.
In Milan, Lin visited MEMC Electronics Materials S.p.A., a subsidiary of GlobalWafers Co., Ltd., and NHOA Energy, an affiliate of TCC Group Holdings. The visits aimed to understand the Taiwanese companies’ investment strategies and the state of their operations in Italy.
The ministry said it will continue to develop its “Trusted Technology Taiwan” program to combine the country’s top talent and business environment while partnering with Europe for semiconductors, AI, and other key technologies.
