TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan’s domestic travel subsidy program is expected to launch in September and give travelers up to 2,000 points that can be used for amusement park tickets, CNA reported Wednesday.
UDN reported that the plan includes five types of offers for domestic travelers: weekday hotel discounts, birthday hotel credits, hotel-and-amusement-park package deals, rewards for company trips, and Taiwan PASS discounts.
Tourism Administration Deputy Director-General Huang He-ting (黃荷婷) said visits to amusement parks have been rising. She said visits rose by more than 260,000 in 2025 compared with 2024.
Huang said travelers who use the weekday hotel discount will receive points that can be exchanged for tickets to 25 amusement parks across Taiwan.
The administration said travelers can receive 800 points for the first night of a weekday hotel stay and another 1,200 points if they stay a second night.
This means travelers can receive up to 2,000 points in total, which can then be used for amusement park tickets.
The administration said 800 points can be exchanged for one ticket to Lihpao Land. Amusement park operators can later apply for government support based on the number of points used by visitors.
Huang said the program’s budget has passed committee review. She said the administration hopes lawmakers will give final approval soon.
The administration said Taiwan’s amusement parks drew 18 million visits last year. It said summer visits reached 3.5 million, and the new offers could raise attendance by 5% to 10%.
