TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The 2026 Food Taipei Mega Shows opened Wednesday with 1,750 exhibitors from 33 countries using 4,700 booths, making it the largest edition since the COVID-19 pandemic.
CNA reported that the four-day event runs through Saturday at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1 and Nangang Exhibition Center halls 1 and 2. It brings together five trade shows covering food, food processing machinery, biotech and pharmaceutical equipment, packaging, and hotel and restaurant equipment.
Taiwan External Trade Development Council Chair James Huang (黃志芳) said 21 countries have set up national pavilions at the event. The largest pavilions are from the US, Japan, Latin America, Canada, and South Korea.
Taiwan’s pavilion includes food companies from across the country. Huang said the pavilion showcases the strength of Taiwan’s food industry.
The trade council has invited buyers from 88 countries to Taiwan for the event. More than 3,000 buyers registered in advance, and one-on-one business meetings will be held during the show.
Presidential Office Deputy Secretary-General Ho Chih-wei (何志偉) said Taiwan’s food industry has become an important part of the economy. He said Taiwan has about 8,000 food-related companies, which support about 240,000 jobs.
