TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍) on Tuesday highlighted growing Taiwan-Poland ties during a visit to Warsaw.
Lin made the remarks during a reception hosted by the Poland-Taiwan Parliamentary Group, attended by more than 20 Polish lawmakers, per CNA.
The event was hosted by Taiwan’s representative office in Poland and attended by senior Polish political figures, including former acting president Grzegorz Schetyna and former prime minister Waldemar Pawlak.
In his remarks, Lin said Poland and Taiwan are like-minded partners and welcomed recent signs of closer cooperation. He also said the government plans to open a Taiwan Language Center in Warsaw to enhance understanding of Taiwanese culture and language among the Polish public.
Lin thanked the parliamentary group for issuing joint statements over the past four years supporting Taiwan’s international participation and peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. He said the group’s backing has helped strengthen cooperation across a range of areas.
Lin also highlighted growing economic ties, including Foxconn’s strategic partnership with Poland’s state-backed electric vehicle company EMP. He said such projects reflect Taiwan’s commitment to expanding its presence in Poland and Europe.
