TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Sigurd Microelectronics said Tuesday it expects AI-driven demand and new capacity to lift second-half growth.
The company said its second-half outlook is supported by demand from AI, ASICs, AI connectivity chips, silicon photonics, networking chips, low-Earth orbit satellites, memory, and silicon capacitors, per CNA. It said growth remains steady as capacity continues to expand.
At an investor call, Sigurd General Manager Yeh Tsan-lian (葉燦鍊) said rising memory prices may temporarily weigh on some customers. He said demand from AI, silicon photonics, networking, and memory applications remains strong, per Anue.
Yeh said previously ordered equipment is coming online with new capacity, helping support revenue in the second half. He said this will help offset short-term market pressure.
He said construction of the second-phase cleanroom at Sigurd’s Hukou site is progressing, and all capacity has been pre-booked by overseas clients. He said mass production will begin in July as equipment is installed.
Sigurd said capacity utilization is 70% to 80%. It added that 2025 capex will rise to NT$8.8 billion (US$278 million), up 48% from its original plan, mainly for advanced testing equipment.
