TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — TECO said Monday it has partnered with Billion Watts and Tun Green Power to develop solar and energy storage projects in Australia.
The company said its Australian subsidiary, TECO Australia and New Zealand, will work with the two partners to develop the Seaspray solar-plus-storage project in Victoria and a second energy storage portfolio, per CNA. It said the cooperation aims to strengthen its position as a renewable energy solutions provider in the region.
Seaspray combines 5.48 MWp of solar generation with 11 MWh of battery storage. The three companies have formed a joint venture in Australia to invest in and build the project, with TECO holding a 45% stake and expected to secure the engineering, procurement, and construction contract.
TECO said a second-phase project, with 50 MW of capacity and 200 MWh of storage, will focus on distributed energy development. The company will supply key power infrastructure, including transformers, ring main units, and switchgear.
TECO said it has operated in Australia for more than 40 years, originally in motors and air-conditioning systems before expanding into renewable energy and power solutions. It added that the new projects reflect its transition into integrated energy services.
TECO Australia and New Zealand President Stuart Walker said the projects highlight the company’s transformation strategy and its capabilities in large-scale energy engineering.
