TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taipei will hold its second round of free health checks for migrant workers this year on Sunday, the city’s Department of Labor said on Tuesday.
The city has scheduled four free health check events this year, following the first session held on March 15, per CNA. The event will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the main hall of Taipei Main Station.
The program is being conducted in partnership with the Tzu Chi International Medical Association. Services include general physical exams, dentistry, otolaryngology, internal medicine, gynecology, psychiatry, traditional Chinese medicine, and medication safety consultations.
Officials said medication safety consultations have consistently ranked among the three most requested services in recent years. Demand for abdominal ultrasound screenings has also risen, reflecting growing awareness of preventive healthcare among migrant workers.
The event will also offer health and hygiene guidance as well as information on living in Taiwan. The first 20 participants to complete the checkup will receive a voucher for a 15-minute massage.
Two additional sessions are scheduled for Aug. 16 and Oct. 4. The department urged employers and labor agencies to help spread the information and said further details are available on its Facebook page, website, or by calling (02) 2338-1600 ext. 4210.
