TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Tainan opened its pavilion at Seoul Food 2026 in South Korea on Tuesday to promote local farm goods, seafood products, drinks, and processed foods to international buyers.
The Tainan City Government said this is the third time it has led local businesses to the food trade show. This year, eight Tainan food companies are displaying products such as popping boba, ready-to-eat tapioca pearls, fruit juice, frozen fruit, tea, spreads, and processed farm products.
Deputy Agriculture Bureau Director Wu Wei-ta (吳威達) said South Korea has become an important market for Tainan farm exports in recent years. He said Tainan pineapples, mangoes, and other fruit have become popular with South Korean consumers.
Wu said the city will continue helping local companies find more buyers and business opportunities. He said Tainan will do this through trade shows, overseas sales channels, and market events.
The products on display include sparkling grapefruit drinks, pomelo juice, peanut and sesame spreads, Taiwan tea, frozen fruit, fruit puree, fruit juice, and tropical fruit products made with Tainan mangoes and pineapples.
The city also arranged activities to attract visitors to the pavilion. One activity lets visitors play tuho, a traditional Korean arrow-throwing game, for a chance to win limited Tainan farm product gift packs.
The Agriculture Bureau said product displays and tasting events will be held each day during the fair. It said the events will help buyers better understand the products and support talks between Tainan businesses and overseas partners.
Agriculture Bureau Director Lee Fang-lin (李芳林) said Tainan’s overseas promotion results in the first half of this year have already exceeded the total for all of last year. Lee said the city will continue taking Tainan companies to international trade shows to raise the value and visibility of local farm brands.
