TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan will allocate an additional NT$1.83 billion under its Central and Eastern Europe Investment Fund (CEE).
This will support Taiwanese and Czech companies seeking to expand into each other's markets, National Development Council Chair Yeh Chun-hsien (葉俊顯) said Thursday during a visit by Czech Senate President Milos Vystrcil.
Yeh said the new funding will support Taiwan firms entering the Czech market, Czech companies investing in Taiwan, and joint ventures, per CNA. The initiative is intended to deepen bilateral investment and technology cooperation.
During a meeting with Vystrcil's delegation, Minister of Economic Affairs Kung Ming-hsin (龔明鑫) said the Czech Republic has become one of Taiwan's most important partners in Central and Eastern Europe, CNA reported. He added that the country has attracted the largest number of projects under Taiwan's NT$6.3 billion CEE and a NT$31.51 billion financing fund for Central and Eastern Europe established in 2022.
Yeh said bilateral trade reached NT$67.5 billion in 2025. Since the fund was established, Taiwan has invested NT$875 million in five Czech companies.
