TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Taiwan Excellence Drone International Business Opportunity Alliance is showcasing its capabilities in Japan this week, seeking new opportunities with Japanese partners.
The alliance said it is participating in Japan Drone at Makuhari Messe in Chiba from Wednesday to Friday, per CNA. It is part of a delegation led by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Organized by the Japan UAS Industrial Development Association, the exhibition is Japan’s largest drone industry event. This year’s show is expected to attract more than 230 exhibitors, per Liberty Times.
The Taiwan pavilion is presenting drone platforms, key components, and electronic modules across the supply chain. Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) also showcased its self-developed drone countermeasure system to highlight Taiwan’s defense and security capabilities.
The alliance said Taiwan and Japan’s drone industries are highly complementary, with Japan strong in precision machinery and automation and Taiwan strong in chips and cybersecurity.
With global demand rising for security-related drone applications, the group said Taiwan is a natural partner for Japan. Both sides are already holding business-to-business meetings and exchanges with Japanese drone organizations to explore market opportunities, it added.
The alliance includes nearly 20 companies, including AIDC and Thunder Tiger. It also brings together government agencies and industry groups spanning aerospace and defense.
