TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan and Poland signed a cybersecurity cooperation MOU last Thursday.
The agreement is an important milestone in bilateral cooperation in information security and a new chapter of more institutionalized ties between the two countries, according to the Taipei Representative Office in Poland.
Taiwan’s representative to Poland, Liu Yung-chien (劉永健), and the head of the Polish Office in Taipei, Janusz Bilski, signed the MOU. The two countries “will deepen cooperation in areas such as cybersecurity policy exchange, information sharing, emerging technologies, talent development, academic research, and cybersecurity incident response,” to bolster digital security resilience, the office said.
In recent years, Poland has strengthened its cybersecurity framework and amended its Act on the National Cybersecurity System, which strengthens protection of critical infrastructure and overall digital defense capabilities, the office said. Practical exchanges between the two countries have also continued to deepen, it added.
In 2025, Poland’s Ministry of Digital Affairs sent representatives to Taiwan for the first time to participate in the Cyber Offensive and Defensive Exercise and the Advanced Cybersecurity Exploration Conference, “demonstrating strong bilateral engagement and momentum in cybersecurity cooperation,” the office said.
Taiwan and Poland face increasingly complex and evolving cybersecurity challenges, according to the office. Therefore, strengthening protection of critical infrastructure and enhancing cybersecurity resilience have become shared priorities, the office said.
“This cooperation highlights both sides’ commitment to a ‘clean network’ and to building a secure and trustworthy digital environment,” it added.
Taiwan and Poland will continue to work together to strengthen digital security and maintain an open, resilient cyberspace, the office said.
