TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Ministry of National Defense announced Tuesday that the 2026 Summer Combat Camp program will run from July 6 to Aug. 27.
The program includes 17 camps around Taiwan with 1,310 spots open for registration, the ministry said, per CNA. The camps cover a wide variety of skills and topics, including defense technology, drone operation, digital training, aviation technology, and parachute training.
Political Warfare Bureau Public Affairs Division Director Major General Wang Yi-hung (王宜弘) said the camp curriculum was designed in line with efforts to strengthen whole-of-society defense resilience. In addition to various military equipment, the camps will feature live-fire target practice and combat medical training.
Through hands-on training, practical exercises, and immersive simulations, the military hopes to deepen public understanding of national defense and attract more students to join the armed forces, Wang said.
Online registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and opens Tuesday at 6 p.m. on the Political Warfare Information Network. The list of accepted participants will be announced at noon on June 16 on the defense ministry’s political warfare information service website and the National Defense Education Information Network.
