TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Tigerair Taiwan Chair Huang Shih-hui (黃世惠) said Wednesday that the airline will launch two new Japan routes before the end of the year.
Huang told reporters at a press conference that the two new Japan routes will begin in the third quarter, with details to be announced in early June, per CNA.
Tigerair Taiwan also plans to introduce two special-livery aircraft. One will be a collaboration with Japan’s Okayama Prefecture called the “Momotaro x Tigerair commemorative livery aircraft” to mark the 10th anniversary of the airline’s Okayama route. The aircraft is expected to make its first flight on July 14, CNA reported.
Details of the second themed aircraft will be announced at a later date.
Huang said Tigerair Taiwan will also launch “tigertel,” a new service that integrates flight tickets and hotel accommodations to provide more competitive package prices. The airline plans to introduce an AI-powered itinerary planning feature in the third quarter, allowing travelers to generate personalized travel plans based on their purchased destinations and travel dates.
The airline is the only Taiwanese carrier offering direct flights to Okinawa from Taoyuan, Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung. The Taichung-Okinawa service was launched in March.
Tigerair Taiwan also has Kaohsiung-Kumamoto and Tainan-Kumamoto flights.
