TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Starlux Airlines said Wednesday that it has received the five-star airline certification from international aviation rating agency Skytrax, marking the second consecutive year it has earned the industry’s highest honor.
Starlux Airlines CEO Glenn Chai (翟健華) called the recognition a major milestone for the carrier, per CNA. He added that it reflects the dedication and consistency the airline’s team has maintained since operations began.
Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted said Starlux’s “Galactic” brand identity has been fully integrated into its cabin design, service culture, inflight dining, and digital experience. He added that the airline’s cabin crews stand out for their professionalism and attentiveness, helping provide a consistently refined onboard experience.
Starlux has continued to gain international recognition in recent years, recently receiving Airline Ratings’ highest 7-Star Plus safety rating. Airline Ratings also ranked the carrier fifth globally and awarded it “World’s Best In-Flight Catering.”
The airline said it will launch its first South Korea routes, Taipei/Taichung–Busan, on June 1 and its first European route, Taipei–Prague, on Aug. 1, CNA reported. In February, Starlux became the first Taiwanese airline to operate the wide-body Airbus A350-1000.
Skytrax, often referred to as the “Oscars of the aviation industry,” is an international aviation evaluation and survey organization, according to CNA. Its rankings are based on extensive on-site audits covering airport services, cabin environment, in-flight service, and catering quality.
