TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Czech Senate President Milos Vystrcil on Monday praised growing Taiwanese investment in the Czech Republic ahead of his planned visit to Taiwan in June.
Vystrcil made the remarks after visiting CTi Europe’s factory in Klecany, about 5 kilometers from Prague, per CNA. The Taiwanese company began operating the facility in October as part of its push into the European industrial automation and networking market.
Vystrcil said he was pleased that CTi is among the earliest firms to invest in the country. He added that Taiwan’s strengths in technology and precision manufacturing complement Europe’s industrial base.
CTi Europe Deputy General Manager Lin Po-hsun (林柏勳) said the company manufactures high-speed networking cables used in data centers, construction, and industrial automation. Its main clients are in Germany, France, and Nordic countries, while it is now expanding into Central and Eastern Europe.
Lin said many products are first sold through Western European clients before entering the Czech market. He added that the company mainly operates as an OEM manufacturer, producing goods that are later sold under clients’ own brands and distribution networks.
Lin also shared Taiwan’s unique “Kuai Kuai” culture, in which workers place bags of the snacks beside machinery in hopes the equipment will operate smoothly. He said the company brought the tradition to its Czech factory, with some machines surrounded by several packs.
