TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — McDonald's Taiwan announced Tuesday that it will raise prices on select menu items starting May 27.
The company said the adjustments were made in consideration of its overall business strategy, per CNA. Extra value meals and sharing boxes will increase by NT$5 (US$0.15), while some breakfast combo meals and creamy corn soup will rise by NT$3.
McDonald’s said prices for individual breakfast and main meal items will remain unchanged despite increases in combo meal prices, CNA reported. Medium lemon iced tea and hot cappuccino will also increase by NT$3.
The price of plastic bags will rise by NT$1. Extra Chicken McNuggets dipping sauce packets will cost NT$2 more.
McDonald’s also announced that the Spicy Quarter Pounder and Spicy Double Quarter Pounder will become permanent menu items starting May 27, featuring Angus beef patties and Cajun-style sauce. The Double Filet-O-Fish will also return as an all-day menu item.
