TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan's major engineering contractor CTCI said demand for AI infrastructure boosted new orders, pushing its total projects under construction to a record NT$500 billion (US$16 billion), CNA reported.
At a Thursday investor briefing, CTCI reported that it secured NT$75 billion in orders between January and April. Orders related to technology facilities rose to 41%, including AI data centers and semiconductor plant construction.
CTCI said it has secured an order for Micron Technology’s advanced memory wafer fab expansion project in Singapore. The company added the project marks a breakthrough in its tech facilities segment, highlighting its capability to handle large-scale semiconductor plant construction.
Last year, CTCI also completed Micron’s Fab 11 expansion project in Taoyuan, which focused on upgrading on-site power, water, and gas supply systems.
The company said it has cooperated with Delta Electronics, USI Group, and Ta Ya Electric Wire & Cable on energy technology and construction projects. It has also joined a science park overseas expansion initiative led by the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association, aiming to build industrial clusters in the US, Mexico, and Poland.
Beyond tech facility construction, CTCI has also undertaken projects for domestic gas-fired power plants and LNG receiving terminals. In July 2025, it won a contract from Formosa Petrochemical to build LNG storage tanks and a receiving terminal in Yunlin’s Mailiao Township, with completion expected in 2029.
CTCI is also working with Japan’s IHI Corp. to construct four dome-roof LNG storage tanks for CPC at its facility in Kaohsiung. Each tank has a capacity of 180,000 kL, and the project is scheduled for completion in 2030.
The company added it aims to integrate renewable energy supply, energy storage, and smart grid management solutions into its power generation facility projects to support the government’s carbon reduction goals.
