TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Nan Ya Printed Circuit Board, part of Formosa Plastics Group, forecast that its revenue growth will be driven mainly by the IC substrate segment amid rising AI demand, CNA reported.
Chair Tsou Ming-jen (鄒明仁) said the company will focus on developing new substrate manufacturing processes this year. He added the company plans to expand production lines for advanced IC substrates used in AI servers and networking equipment at facilities in New Taipei, Taoyuan, and China.
The company said about 80% of its production capacity is based in Taiwan, with the remainder in China. It added that IC substrates account for nearly 90% of total revenue.
Tsou said the company will continue seeking business opportunities for substrates used in cloud and edge computing products. He noted the shift from generative AI to reasoning-based AI applications is driving demand for AI infrastructure.
Continued spending by cloud service providers, chipmakers, and data center operators is boosting demand for networking equipment, high-performance computing chips, and edge computing devices. Tsou said this is expected to drive growth in demand for printed circuit boards.
He added that breakthroughs in large language model technology and AI reasoning capabilities are accelerating upgrades for AI servers and high-end switches. In response, the company will continue strengthening its IC substrates used in graphics processing units and advanced chips.
Beyond substrates used in AI servers and computing devices, the company has also developed IC substrates for automotive control chips. Tsou noted the growing use of AI and automation in automotive electronics is increasing demand for advanced circuit boards used in driver assistance systems.
As mobile devices become thinner and more compact, the company is also developing IC substrates for chips used in those devices.
