TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — From oversized plush displays to themed desserts, Caco Cafe has brought Pompompurin’s world to Taiwan.
Two locations in Tainan, one in Kaohsiung and Taichung are transformed into immersive spaces in the limited-time collaboration. Running through June 30, the venues feature character decorations, interactive installations, exclusive menu items, and collectible merchandise.
Known for his round shape, brown beret, and laid-back personality, Pompompurin remains one of Sanrio’s most recognizable characters. The collaboration recreates the character’s cozy atmosphere through warm-toned interiors and interactive displays designed to give visitors a slower-paced cafe experience.
The limited-time menu centers on comfort food and playful desserts made for sharing. Savory dishes include white sauce lasagna, flavored pizzas, and grilled snack platters, while sweets range from pudding parfaits and brownie desserts to cream rolls and dorayaki ice cream.
Drinks include pudding milk tea, honeycomb toffee pudding smoothies, and berry yogurt sparkling drinks served with themed accessories. The recently opened Taichung Hanshin Intercontinental Shopping Plaza branch is also offering an exclusive soft-serve ice cream series.
The collaboration extends beyond the cafe menu. A collection of limited-edition merchandise is designed to bring Pompompurin’s comforting charm into everyday life, from wearable accessories and small stationery items to plush dolls and collectible blind boxes.
Visitors can also explore interactive installations including themed photo booths, custom name sticker machines, and dedicated photo backdrops. Limited-edition souvenirs and snacks, including cotton candy and rice crackers, are also available at participating stores.
The collaboration is available at four Caco Cafe branches: Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Tainan Xiaoximen, TS Mall Tainan, Dream Mall Kaohsiung, and Taichung Hanshin Intercontinental Shopping Plaza, as part of Pompompurin’s 30th anniversary celebrations.
The golden retriever character is known for his love of simple comforts, including milk and his mother’s homemade caramel pudding. According to Sanrio, he enjoys napping and doing “Purin aerobics,” and dreams of getting even bigger.
