TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Aerospace Industrial Development Corp. said Wednesday its Gangshan plant in Kaohsiung is advancing smart manufacturing at its aircraft engine production operations.
The company said the high-energy-use facility has introduced integrated chilled-water cooling systems and variable frequency and voltage controls, per CNA. It has also installed a solar power system to improve overall efficiency.
AIDC said its strategy centers on digital energy management systems which cover power monitoring. Solar generation tracking is also integrated, with AI being deployed to optimize operations.
The initiatives have cut electricity use by about 2.2 million kWh annually, the company explained. Carbon emissions have been reduced by more than 1,000 metric tons, generating over NT$8.8 million (US$280,000) in energy-saving benefits.
AIDC’s Q1 revenue reached NT$7.58 billion, roughly flat compared with the same period last year, per MoneyDJ.
