TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan’s thermal management and power management firms on Tuesday struck a more optimistic tone for the coming quarters as artificial intelligence applications strengthen.
Upi Semiconductor Corp. said stronger AI server and high-performance computing demand are expected to support a recovery in second-quarter revenue. The company noted that power system specifications are becoming more advanced as AI workloads expand, boosting demand for its PowerStage and integrated power solutions, according to CTEE.
AI-related revenue accounted for more than 5% of sales in the first quarter, meeting the company’s internal target. Upi Semi plans to raise that share into double digits this year.
Its product portfolio covers end devices, edge servers, and cloud data centers. These include power management solutions, power modules, and backup battery units.
Anpec Electronics Corp. also maintained a positive outlook. However, the company cited cost pressures.
Chair Wang Chih-hsin (王志信) said wafer fabrication and packaging cost increases are expected to begin affecting results from the third quarter, prompting pricing discussions with customers. Adjustments will vary by product and application, ranging from none to as high as 15%.
Anpec focuses on chips that manage power inside electronic devices, as well as chips used for sound functions and temperature control. Its AI server-related revenue remains in the low single-digit percentage range, mainly driven by power management products.
The company said its cooling fan control systems for server cooling are now being tested by customers as part of the approval process. It expects clearer progress by the end of this year, with potential revenue contributions starting next year.
