TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport ranked among the world’s top 10 family-friendly airports, reports said Tuesday.

Consulting firm Skytrax unveiled its rankings, putting Seoul Incheon Airport at the top, followed by Singapore Changi Airport and Istanbul Airport. Tokyo Narita ranked No. 7 and Taoyuan ranked No. 10.

CNA reported that the Taiwan gateway’s numerous play areas help keep children entertained while waiting for flights. Nurseries are also available to assist traveling families.

Taoyuan International Airport Corp. said it plans to set up 53 breastfeeding rooms and nurseries across the airport’s terminals. Rooms featuring images of Formosan black bears and characters from Japan’s Sanrio will welcome visitors, the company said.

While there were no data on use of the facilities, the airport operator estimated that most users were Taiwanese families waiting for their flights.
