TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwanese companies are expected to benefit as major technology firms expand investment into robotics, a shift that is linking AI development more closely with physical systems.
Meta Platforms has recently entered the field through its acquisition of startup Assured Robot Intelligence, signaling a move beyond its core social media business into physical AI systems. It is now competing with other global technology giants, including Tesla, Google, Amazon, and Nvidia, in the robotics sector, according to CTEE.
The trend reflects a broader industry shift in which companies are increasing spending on robotics technologies that combine computing, sensing, and mechanical execution. Demand is expected to rise for high-performance chips, sensors, and precision mechanical components used in these systems.
Taiwan’s supply chain is positioned to benefit across multiple segments. TSMC is expected to gain from stronger demand for advanced chips used in AI computing, inference, and robotic control systems.
In chip design, Alchip Technologies is likely to benefit from rising demand for custom high-performance computing chips used in AI-driven robotics applications. In sensing and machine vision, Genius Electronic Optical could see increased orders as robotic systems require more advanced visual recognition capabilities.
In motion control and precision engineering, Hiwin Technologies and Chieftek Precision are expected to benefit from demand for robotic joints, actuators, and movement systems that enable human-like motion. System integration demand is also expected to increase, with Foxconn positioned to assemble and integrate humanoid hardware as commercialization progresses.
The Market Intelligence and Consulting Institute said that while the US leads in AI model development and China focuses on motion control and large-scale production, Taiwan has structural advantages in robotics manufacturing. These include precision components, sensors, industrial computing, and system integration capabilities.
