TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Passengers on buses crossing the new Danjiang Bridge in New Taipei will pay a special NT$5 (US$0.15) fare, reports said Tuesday.
The fares will be valid for four bus lines starting operations on May 13, the day after the bridge’s official opening. The services are the 988 express to Banqiao, the 989 and 990 express buses to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, and the 115 tourist bus between Tamsui and Bali, per CNA.
The special fares will be valid until June 10, but tickets must be booked online by 10:30 p.m. the day before the trip. Each ride on the tourist bus has a maximum of 18 seats available, while the maximum number of reservations for the other services is 34 each.
The bus lines will operate more limited service than most buses in Taiwan. The 988 express from Danhai New Town to Banqiao will have four services per day, at 6:50 a.m., 10 a.m., 4:30 p.m., and 8 p.m.
The 115 Tamsui-Bali tourist bus will only operate from Friday to Sunday, with departure times at 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 6 p.m.
The 989 airport express bus will operate between Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and Danhai New Town, with departures from Terminal 2 scheduled for 7 a.m., 11 a.m., and 4 p.m. each day, and from Danhai at 8:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 5:45 p.m.
The 990 express bus will run between the airport and Tamsui MRT station. Departures from Terminal 2 will leave at 6 a.m., 10 a.m., and 2 p.m., with return rides leaving Tamsui at 7:45 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 3:30 p.m., according to CNA.
