TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The National Institute of Cyber Security and ASE signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday to enhance semiconductor cybersecurity.
The agreement aims to build a “defense wall” for semiconductor operations by linking real-time cybersecurity data and technical resources, per CNA.
ASE Kaohsiung Vice President Li Cheng-chieh (李政傑) said the partnership marks a shift toward a more transparent joint defense system, allowing faster detection and response to cyber incidents affecting core assets.
Li said the cooperation will also deepen cross-disciplinary exchanges and strengthen mutual trust, supporting ASE’s digital transformation and long-term competitiveness.
National Institute for Cyber Security Research Director Lin Ying-ta (林盈達) said ASE plays a key role in the semiconductor supply chain. He added that its cybersecurity experience will help reinforce the broader defense ecosystem.
The institute said it will integrate resources and share high-value threat intelligence and attack analysis. It emphasized that closer industry cooperation will help Taiwan strengthen digital resilience and build a more secure semiconductor supply chain.
