TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Taiwan Navy Dunmu Goodwill Fleet wrapped up its visit to Belize last week and has set sail for its next destination.
The fleet consists of the fast combat support ship Panshi, the Cheng Kung-class guided-missile frigate Yueh Fei, and the Kang Ding-class guided-missile frigate Di Hua. It is led by Rear Admiral Chen Ming-feng (陳明峯).
Belize Governor-General Dame Froyla Tzalam and Belize Prime Minister John Briceño welcomed the 2026 Midshipmen Cruising and Training Squadron, according to the Taiwanese embassy in Belize. During the visit, the Navy conducted maritime skills exchanges with the Belize Coast Guard and hosted a goodwill reception.
The Navy drum and bugle corps, military band, honor guard, and martial arts team all performed, while the Panshi was open for public tours.
The Taiwanese embassy thanked Belize’s defense ministry and the Belize City Council for their assistance in ensuring the goodwill fleet had a successful visit.
The fleet left Taiwan last month and first stopped in the Marshall Islands for a three-day port call. It then sailed through the Panama Canal in early April and visited Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
