TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Yilan County experienced a magnitude 4.8 earthquake at 3:16 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Central Weather Administration.
The epicenter was located 15.1 kilometers north-northeast of Yilan County Hall at a depth of 69 kilometers, the CWA said. Taiwan uses a scale of 1 to 7 to measure a quake's intensity at a specific location.
The quake registered a 3 in Yilan County. An intensity level of 2 was recorded in Greater Taipei, Taoyuan, and Hualien County.
An intensity level of 1 was reported in Keelung, Hsinchu County, Hsinchu, Miaoli County, Taichung, Nantou County, and Changhua County.
